  6. Prepare for an interview
    1. Know the exact place and time of the interview, the name of the interviewer, and their exact title.
    2. Find out specific facts about the company
      1. How long has it been in business
      2. What its products or services are
      3. What its growth has been
      4. If they have other locations and where
      5. What its growth potential is for the future
    3. Know the facts and figures of your current/former employer. You will be expected to know a good deal about a company that you have worked for.
    4. Prepare the questions you will ask during the interview. Keep in mind that the interview is a "two-way street". The employer will try to determine through questioning if you have the qualifications needed to do the job. You must determine through questioning whether the company will give you the opportunity for the growth and development you seek.
    5. Probing questions you might ask
      1. A detailed description of the position.
      2. What is the number one priority of this position?
      3. What are the goals (short and long term) set for this position?
      4. What obstacles would prevent them from being reached?
      5. Why is this position available?
      6. What sort of people have done well in this job?
      7. What are the company's short and long range objectives?
      8. What kind of corporate culture/management style exists?
      9. What will my performance evaluation be based on?
      10. What is the career path for a proven performer?
    6. Have extra copies of your resume with you.
    7. Close the interview.
      1. If you are interested in the position, let the interviewer know.
      2. Thank the interviewer for their time and consideration.
  7. Dress conservatively and preferably in darker colors.
  8. Follow up on the interview with a brief "Thank You" letter stating once again why you would be an asset to the company and expressing your interest in the position.
  9. Get the offer.
